THE STEVEN SPELLMASTER STAGE HYPNOTIST SHOW
When The Steven Spellmaster Stage Hypnotist Show began in 1994, it was a club show held on weekends. With his love of entertainment, fascination with the workings of the mind and an itch for travel, Steven soon began touring Australia extensively, taking his hilarious and fascinating live show to Australia- and world-wide. From 1994 to 1999, Steven focussed on gaining publicity in newspapers, radio and television appearances such as "The Footy Show", "Midday Australia", "The Denise Drysdale Show", "NBN Telethon" and many others.
Steven offered venues and the Newcastle Knights free performances and gained recognition with audiences of up to 28,000, hypnotising groups of up to 75 volunteers at a time.
After 5 years dedicated to gaining publicity and promoting the show, it was time for The Steven Spellmaster Stage Hypnotist Show to become a full time touring show. Steven first booked a 4 week tour in Sydney, Wollongong and Western NSW to gauge the success of his half a decade of promoting. Steven funded the show himself, arranging TV ads and having paper leaflets distributed face to face in every area to make sure the tour would be a success.
Was it a success?
No. It was a disaster. Some venue cancellations and poor ticket sales characterised the tour.
Steven's "glass half full" reasoning and his appreciation for those fans who had shown their support, motivated him to continue on with the tour and take the show to audiences as small as 7 people - and he loved every minute!
After this unsuccessful tour, most people thought Steven should give up - but with his self belief and determination to fulfill his goal, he designed a marketing concept that could not fail. Steven sent letters to every local business in all the areas he was performing in, and offered management and staff free tickets to attend the show, reasoning that once they saw how great the show was, they would happily pay to see it again next time he toured.
So for the next year, performing 3-5 shows per week, The Steven Spellmaster Stage Hypnotist Show was filling venues all over Australia for FREE! You know you love what you are doing when you work for free.
Steven's year of free shows paid off - with sold out shows throughout Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea from 2001-2006 returning by popular demand to some venues up to ten times. The show proved to be such a success, with over 1000 performances in five years, we stayed on the road living in motels the entire time. What a reward for doing something you love in life!
Now that Steven had triumphed on the tour circuit, he sought further challenge. He began offering his talents as a television commercial presenter. Yet again, Steven met the same negative attitudes, and opinions that he could never succeed as he was "just a hypnotist". Steven was rejected many times, and decided to prove his skill in presenting by appearing for free in a number of ads. With his dedication and ambition, Steven once drove 1500km to present a commercial in Victoria whilst in the middle of a tour of Northern NSW, then another 1500km to get to his next show.
Steven's dedication paid off and he now has over 20 television commercials Australia wide added to his resume, and more to come.
Steven now directs his attention to the stage hypnotist show, corporate events, and his television career. Being self promoted, self motivated and very energetic, Steven sets his goals over one year, five year and ten year periods. So in the years to come we can expect some big changes to the show, as well as more television appearances and commercial presentations!
In the meantime, Steven will perform an average of 2 shows per week. He will be available for club shows, corporate events, weddings, birthdays, fundraisers or any occasion.

JOHN HUNTER CHILDRENS CANCER HOSPITAL - FUNDRAISING
The Steven Spellmaster Stage Hypnotist Show is also closely associated with the John Hunter Childrens Cancer Support and Research Fund. Raising funds for the childrens hospital is one of Steven's high priorities, with the famous "red collection bucket" making it's rounds at all of Steven's performances. Funds raised have now reached a colossal total of $70,000 with the latest goal being set at $100,000. All funds raised on behalf of the childrens' cancer hospital are distributed between research for cure and making sure the childrens' stay at the John Hunter is as comfortable as possible by buying entertainment products like Playstation games etc.
